Steven Gerrard hailed his Rangers heroes for completing another sensational charge to the Europa League group stages.
But the boss insisted there will only be a party if the Ibrox men get their hands on silverware at the end of the season.
The Light Blues stunned Galatasaray with a silky second half performance as Scott Arfield and James Tavernier struck before the visitors pinched a late consolation.
Gerrard was thrilled with another stunning European success as they got through four rounds for the third year on the spin – but his eyes are on the bigger picture this time around.
He said: “It’s up there with the best nights we’ve had. We have had a lot of fantastic experiences in the two-and-a-bit years from a European point of view.
“This is a fantastic night and the players are very happy in the dressing room but I want to make sure we have good nights come May.
“European football is very important but for me it is about success in May but if we keep performing like tonight and keep moving this group forward and adding the right players to it then maybe we can.
“I told the players it is fantastic in Europe but this club is built on success and that’s trophies.
“The expectation doesn’t change but we take that and the challenge for me is can I get this team in the mix come May.
“This club is built on success and that’s trophies, they have big shoes to fill as so many fantastic teams in the past have been successful and that won’t change.
“We are aware of that and we will deal with it and take each game as it comes.
“The challenge for me is can I get this team in the mix come May?”
Gerrard insisted his side was superb right through the team but he singled out skipper Tavernier for special praise after the full back made it seven goals in his last seven games with the crucial second last night.
He said: “That was James. He’s the captain of team and a fantastic attacking full-back. I think he showed real leadership and real quality tonight. He led the the team to a fantastic result that can’t be played down in the current climate financially, it’s very important.
“When we arrived here we knew we had the best right back in the league.
“His consistency levels have been outrageous and he has now led the side to the Europa League group stages three times.
“I know certain people outside of the club have things to say about him but we know what we’ve got here.
“If he was the perfect full back he wouldn’t be here. He’s available all of the time and he puts himself out there.
“His numbers are outstanding.”
Rangers bossed the Turkish big guns for long spells but it was in the second half they turned on the style.
Gerrard said: “They were outstanding but we lacked pace in the first half and we were toothless in the first half.
“I wanted them to have more belief and they did that.
“We asked them to back themselves in the final third and they did that.
“To a man the players were outstanding. We gave them a plan and they carried it out.
“It was nervy at the end but we deserved that victory.”
Gerrard is gearing up for Friday’s draw but he insisted this season’s run is already a success as the Covid crisis has made qualifying a minefield.
He said: “This run was more difficult as we didn’t have the crowd and you only have one game.
“Willem II were a difficult team and there was no room for error and we won there. The players deserve all the credit.”
