Steven Gerrard admits Borna Barisic could miss Sunday's clash with Livingston after limping out of the 2-0 win over Standard Liege on Thursday night.
But he's backed Calvin Bassey to fill his boots if he's called upon to cover for the Croatian after another impressive showing from the young left-back.
The 20-year-old replaced Barisic in the first half and didn't look out of place as he defended well and helped out in attack.
He was caught out once with a ball over the top but his energy and work rate down the left hand side was matched by his ability to beat a man and fire in a cross.
And although Gerrard is hopeful that Barisic will be available after his scan, the Rangers boss isn't too concerned about his back up.
He said: "We have a few kicks, some bumps but we are not too concerned.
"The only one is Barisic who is a doubt, for now, it doesn't look to be a big problem but we will do a scan to double-check.
"I thought he (Bassey) was outstanding, coming into a game of that level with so little experience. We are all proud of him and with time we believe we can develop him even further.
"He is in a good place and he is ready, every time he has been called upon he has produced."
