Steve Irwin's daughter received a stunning wedding gift from one of his most famous friends - Russell Crowe.

Bindi Irwin married her childhood sweetheart Chandler Powell in a secret wedding just hours before strict coronavirus lockdown rules banned large gatherings in Australia's Queensland.

The 21-year-old took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to share a photo of the gift Russell had sent her: a fig tree.

Bindi and her new husband posed by the tree, which had a white ribbon around the trunk, with huge grins on their faces.

Married life clearly suits Bindi as she was glowing while posing in a green t-shirt, jeans and hiking shoes.

Bindi and Chandler tied the knot at the family's Australia Zoo last month.

The couple remembered her late father by lighting a candle for him during the ceremony.

There were no guests at the wedding to follow social distancing rules.
