Betfred Cup semi-finalists St Mirren have launched a bid to land Jaden Brown on-loan from Huddersfield Town.

The Buddies, who take on Livingston at Hampden on Sunday, have made a move for the left-back for the second half of the season.

Manager Jim Goodwin is hopeful of tying up a deal this week.

The 21-year-old had a loan spell at Exeter City last season but is highly-thought of by the Terriers.

Huddersfield signed the former England under-19 international from Tottenham Hotspur two years ago.

Goodwin is looking to add to his backline options.

Richard Tait has played there in recent weeks with Brandon Mason, who is on loan from Coventry City, sidelined recently.

Goodwin wants another option for the left-hand side and believes Brown will be the perfect fit.

The Paisley side have already strengthened their frontline options in this window.

They signed Eamonn Brophy on a pre-contract and then took him on-loan for the rest of the season.

They also signed Collin Quaner, who was also previously at Huddersfield Town in what has been a successful window for St Mirren so far.
