Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed Tanguy Ndombele and Sergio Reguillon are unlikely to play against Newcastle United whilst Gareth Bale will definitely miss out.
The Magpies head to the capital looking to bounce back from their last Premier League outing, a 3-0 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, Steve Bruce's side did produce a very impressive 7-0 win over Morecambe in the Carabao Cup during midweek, albeit with a much-changed side compared to what will take to the field against Spurs.
For Tottenham, their hectic fixture list saw them in action on Thursday night in Europa League qualifying, where they beat FK Shkendija 3-1.
Ahead of Sunday's clash, Mourinho confirmed that Ndombele, who featured on Thursday, and a new signing Reguillon were unlikely to feature, whilst ruling Bale out entirely.
"Sergio will train with us tomorrow," he told Football.London.
"The information I got today from the people that stayed behind was that he had a complete session today and tomorrow he joins the group. Maybe not match fit but not injured any more and ready to train with the team.
"Gareth will take a little bit longer so, of course, no chance for the weekend.
"It was a really positive game from Tanguy, really happy. Can he play Sunday? I'm not sure.
"It's the first time he played 90 minutes, we have to see how he reacts and recovers from it.
"But we have so many matches coming that if a player is not able to play the next match he will be able to play the next one. And we need that because the matches are coming very fast."
With that in mind, Tottenham will be forced to manage their squad ahead of a busy run of matches.
Harry Kane was only used as a substitute in midweek, making him a certainty to start at the weekend.
Former Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko is also likely to be recalled, along with Matt Doherty and Eric Dier.
Predicted Tottenham team to face Newcastle: Lloris (C), Doherty, Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Sissoko, Winks, Lo Celso; Lucas, Kane, Son.
