Snow has fallen in some parts of Greater Manchester sparking travel chaos.

Traffic is moving slowly on the M62 in both directions due to snowfall on the motorway near to junction 22 for Rishworth Moor.

The snow is affecting traffic travelling between junction 23, for Huddersfield, and junction 21, for Milnrow.

There are also reports of snow on the A628 Woodhead Pass, between Tintwistle and Flouch Roundabout.

Drivers are being advised to take extra care.

In Denshaw there has been heavy snowfall on Ripponden Road, near Huddersfield Road.

The snowfall is causing traffic to move slowly in the area.

A yellow weather alert warning of ice and snow remains in place until 10am.

Temperatures could drop to 1C in some areas, with the chance of further snow later on in the morning.
