A new food hall has opened in Durham city that showcases the region's best street food.

The Food Pit hosts a vibrant mix of street food kiosks that are situated around communal seating and smaller tables.

Officially opening at The Riverwalk on November 22, customers can choose from seven stalls that are serving up a host of culinary delights.

Amongst the foods being served up are gourmet burgers, waffles and seafood, from stalls including Durham Sausage Company, Spread of the Med and Mr Waffle.

Clearbell Property Partners, a fund managed by Clearbell Capital, is behind the project and selected operators that would complement each other.

Nick Berry, partner at Clearbell Capital, said: "The Food Pit will introduce the increasingly popular street food concept to the heart of The Riverwalk, bringing a new destination to the city in time for Christmas and New Year.
