MIXING IT UP

THE world of TV may be in turmoil due to the pandemic, but it’s stoked up a rivalry that just won’t seem to go away.

Little Mix’s show The Search has been put on ice as the live shows – and summer tour prize – cannot now go ahead.

And that news has been music to former boss Simon Cowell’s ears, with him claiming to have come up with the format first.

A TV source said: “The show will need to wait until the summer tour is rearranged, which will presumably happen some time in the future.”

But my source added that the gap in the schedules means Simon is now planning a big hitter to compete with them – and he even hopes to get it on air before their show goes out.

The source added: “Having already pulled X Factor, he doesn’t have to worry about that.

"With the girls’ show shelved, he doesn’t have to compete and can get his team to focus on coming back with something amazing next year.”

Let’s pray he settles on something better than X Factor: All Stars.
