Simon Cowell looks back to health and heads out with son Eric – 9 months after the accident that almost paralysed him

SIMON Cowell headed out with his son Eric - 9 months after a horrific accident that almost left him paralysed.

The music mogul, 61, looks back to health as he enjoyed a day out with his seven-year-old child in Malibu, California.

Donning sunglasses, Simon wore a trademark form-fitting dark sweater, which he paired with loose-fitting jeans and black boots.

Eric, seven, wore a red-and-blue patterned shirt with light blue jeans and a pair of flip-flops.

They were joined by his partner and Eric's mother Lauren Silverman, 43, who donned a khaki green utility shirt and indigo jeans.

The trio went out for dinner at an upscale eatery in the exotic city of Malibu, west of Los Angeles, California.

Earlier this week, Simon rode a bicycle for the first time since his back breaking accident.

The X Factor boss, rode the electrical bike with Eric, and Lauren in Malibu, California.

He needed six hours of surgery and missed his spinal cord by a centimetre in the horrific accident.

In August last year he shattered his spine in three places with the same £16,500 CAB Recon e-bike, that can reach speeds of 60mph.

Speaking after the accident, Simon said: “I’ve never been in this situation in my life where you literally can’t move.

“The pain was off the charts. But you’ve got to stay positive.

“I made a promise to myself I’d be fitter than I was before I had the accident. Sure enough, that’s what happened.”
