Sex Education season 3 ‘to begin filming in August’ as Netflix kick starts UK production after lockdown

a new term

SEX Education season three is ‘to begin filming in August’ as Netflix kick starts UK production after lockdown.

The teen comedy has been a huge hit for the streaming service, with season two dropping at the beginning of the year to much acclaim.

Fans are eager for a third season to arrive as soon as possible and now Deadline reports production on the next installment could begin as early as August.

Filming had originally been slated to start this month, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the UK being placed in lockdown.

Netflix hasn't officially confirmed the reports as the potential August start date is subject to change depending on the virus and its spread.

Season three was confirmed back in February via a hilarious video of actor Alistair Petrie, who plays Principal Groff on the popular series.

In it, he walked through a hallway lined with paintings of the cast.

Calling himself an art historian, he took a decidedly Shakespearean approach to the love lives of Otis (Asa Butterfield) and co.

Teasing upcoming storylines, he provided a running commentary of the events of season two for each protagonist.

He ended the clip by teasing that all would be answered in season three.

Sex Education's second season proved to be a hit with fans, securing higher ratings at launch than its debut series.

Critics and viewers alike have praised the show for its candid, inclusive approach to sexuality.

Sex Education seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Netflix now.
