A seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital in serious condition after being hit by a car near a primary school in Manchester.
The collision happened on a busy road in the Longsight area of the city during the school run, shortly before 8.30am on Tuesday.
Greater Manchester Police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene on Plymouth Grove – close to St Chrysostom’s Primary School – soon afterwards.
Photos taken at Plymouth Grove on Tuesday showed officers examining a car behind a cordon, with two buses also in the area taped off by police.
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8:28am to a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian.”
The spokesperson added: “We sent a rapid-response vehicle and an ambulance. A seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital in a serious condition.”
Greater Manchester Police also said officers were called out to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
