Parents have been crossing off the days to March 8 after a long and difficult year of home schooling.
Children have been remote learning for the best part of a year, since the first lockdown on March 20 last year, with just a few months back at school in the latter half of 2020.
It comes after months of homeschooling amid the Covid-19 pandemic, when only key worker and vulnerable children could attended in person.

Returning to school
According to the Government, children should undergo regular Covid-19 testing upon their return to the classroom.
A Government spokesperson said: “All students will begin to return to face-to-face education on 8 March with the following testing measures in place:
“Staff and students in secondary schools and colleges are advised to wear face coverings in all areas, including classrooms, where social distancing cannot be maintained and as a temporary extra measure.”
