One local police team in Greater Manchester has taken to social media to share news of its particularly 'busy week'.
GMP Leigh, Atherton and Hindley posted about a string of incidents that they have spotted, while patrolling Leigh, since last Thursday (November 26).
According to the post, the Leigh area team have been "doing overtime" as part of Operation Sycamore - targeting knife crime hotspots around Greater Manchester.
On Thursday, officers were carrying out 'proactive patrols' on the 'trees estate' in Westleigh, when they spotted an off-road bike.
After initially losing it, officers saw the same bike on Kirkhall Lane and Glebe Street. According to police, the rider eventually 'ran out of skill' and lost control of it on Chadwick Street.
Police seized the bike after checks showed that it was uninsured and was not road legal.
On Saturday (November 28), cops spotted a BMW X1 driving along Wigan Road.
The driver was not insured to drive the car, according to police, and officers seized the vehicle under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.
Police reported the driver for for driving without insurance and for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
Following a separate incident on Pennington Road later that day, police seized cannabis and cash from a car, following a search under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Three men were arrested for possession with intent to supply but were later de-arrested, pending the drugs being examined.
