The last photo of late star Sir Sean Connery saw the James Bond actor pose with his son on his 89th birthday.
On Saturday, the legendary film star’s family revealed that he had been 'ill for some time' before he died peacefully in his sleep in the Bahamas surrounded by loved ones.
Now, his last poignant photograph has surfaced as the Scottish star posed alongside his son Jason and his partner Fiona Upton.
The wholesome family snap, which was taken in August last year, saw the 007 legend playfully hold his finger in the air as he gazed off to one side.
Sat between his beloved son and his partner Fiona, Sir Sean looked cheerful as he celebrated another milestone year with a selection of his nearest and dearest.
His proud son Jason paid tribute to his film star dad on Saturday as he told the BBC his death was a 'sad loss for a people around the world.'
"We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently, even though my dad has been unwell for some time," shared Jason.
A statement from Sir Sean's publicist read: "His wife Micheline and his two sons, Jason and Stephane, have confirmed that he died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family.
"There will be a private ceremony followed by a memorial yet to be planned once the virus has ended."
Sir Sean enjoyed a long and distinguished career but is best known for being the original James Bond, and to many fans the best James Bond there ever was.
The legendary star played Bond between 1962 and 1971.
Sir Sean won a string of acting awards including an Oscar, two Bafta awards and three Golden Globes throughout his astonishing acting career.
He was knighted by the Queen in Holyrood Palace in 2000 for his contribution to the arts.
