The Scottish Government confirmed there has been no new coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours across Scotland.

A total of 211 new cases of the virus were recorded overnight, taking the total since the start of the pandemic in March to 223,682.

Currently, there are 109 people in hospital being treated for Covid-19, while 18 people remain in intensive care unit.

2,744,231 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 738,420 have received their second dose.

Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 7,642 have died of the virus after returning a positive test.

Nicola Sturgeon today warned Scotland faces a "big risk" of importing new variants of the coronavirus if restrictions on international travel are lifted too soon.

The First Minister admitted lifting travel abroad "too quickly" last year which allowed the virus to re-seed amongst the population, which then lead to a second national lockdown.
