A Glasgow baker was honoured to be asked to make a special cake for Celtic's skipper Scott Brown as he bids farewell to the club after 14 years.

Christie Howieson, who owns Cake Days a Week, was contacted by Brown's wife Lisa who asked her to make a cake in the shape of Celtic Park to celebrate the end of an era.

The iconic number eight made his final appearance for the club against Hibs on Saturday and will head off to Aberdeen FC in the Summer to begin his new coaching role alongside Stephen Glass.

Posting on her Facebook page, Christie said she was delighted to be part of such a special celebration.

She said: "I had the absolute pleasure of making this baby for Scott Brown’s family celebrating his Celtic career, cannot thank Lisa enough for asking me to be part of such a special celebration- good luck for the future @broony08."

And many of her followers commented on the sweet master piece.

One wrote: "There’s only one person capable of such a masterpiece! Well done Christie, amazing as always!"

The exquisite detailing is so impressive on the brickwork and stadium build and the masterpiece was even finished off with a lookalike version of the 35-year-old sitting on the stadium with his captain's armband and a sign reading: "Captain. Leader. Legend."
