A ‘deviant’ Scots sexual predator has died behind bars after twice being caught with a haul of vile child abuse images.

Graham Scobie was previously caught with almost 100 sickening pictures at his Irvine home but narrowly avoided a prison sentence in February 2019.

The court was told how the beast had ten different Facebook accounts which he used to lure young boys into sexual chats and would walk around Glasgow parks to be close to kids.

Scobie died while serving his sentence at HMP Dumfries

The 52-year-old was given a strict Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) and placed on the register but was snared for a second time during a routine inspection of his laptop.

Officers discovered a further five abuse images, which included the rape of a seven-year-old boy by an adult male, and an undisclosed Skye account under the alias ‘Joe Bloggs’.

Scobie also admitted that he used an adult webcam site called Chaturbate on a regular basis - which was against the terms of his previous court sentence.

He was jailed at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court in April 2020 for possession of the incident images and for breaching the SOPO.

Scobie was initially remanded at HMP Kilmarnock but was serving his sentence at HMP Dumfries when he passed away on April 11, jail bosses have confirmed.

A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson said: “Graham Robert Scobie, 52, a prisoner from HMP Dumfries, died on 11 April 2021.

“He was convicted at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court in 2020. Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

“A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course.”
