Naby Keita scored one of the goals of the weekend in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Reds midfielder struck a stunning left-footed volley, his first in over a year, to complete another Anfield victory which fired Jurgen Klopp’s men to the top of the Premier League table for 24 hours.

Rifling the ball into the back of the net after goalkeeper Vicente Guaita’s punch flew straight into his path, Keita’s reaction to scoring led Liverpool supporters to compare him to a Manchester United icon.

Fans couldn’t help but notice Keita appeared to replicate Eric Cantona’s famous celebration after scoring an exquisite chip against Sunderland back in 1996.

One supporter tweeted: "Naby Keita with his own version of Cantona celebration. It’s indeed beautiful,” while another added, "Naby Keita remixing the Cantona celebration."

And it seems Sadio Mane agrees.

The forward, who netted Liverpool’s opener against Palace, shared an image of Keita after his goal alongside the Frenchman on and simply captioned the Instagram post: “Cantona lad.”

Keita will be pleased to be back in the Liverpool team and among the goals after making just 10 Premier League appearances last season as injury kept him sidelined.

On Saturday, the Guinea international replaced Thaigo Alcantara who was forced off with a calf issue.

It was the midfielder's fifth appearance of the campaign having started against Norwich, Burnley and Milan in the Champions League.
