It’s the news that coffee lovers have been waiting for as Starbucks has confirmed it is set to open it’s Rutherglen store in September.

The coffee shop confirmed to the Reformer that the Dalmarnock Road site will be ready to open at the start of next month.

The drive-thru and cafe has created 15 jobs in the community and staff are keen to get involved with Rutherglen and Cambuslang groups.

Store manager, Molly Miller said: “We are really excited to get opened up and welcome coffee lovers in the shop or through the drive-thru.

“We are in a handy location so you’re able to nip off or on to the motorway after grabbing a coffee.

“The shop has created 15 new jobs in the area and we would love to get involved with the local community.
“So if there’s any good causes or local groups that are interested out there, get in touch and we can see what we can do.”

South Lanarkshire Council gave the go-ahead for the Starbucks development on vacant land near existing McDonald’s and KFC restaurants last year.

And in a bid to encourage coffee lovers down to the shop on their opening day, but to also encourage locals to be conscious of their carbon footprint, the new store will be running an amazing offer.

The first 100 customers to the shop will receive a free reusable cup filled with a drink of their choice.
