Riverdale’s Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols confirm they’re quitting show after season four

RIVERDALE's Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols have confirmed they're quitting the show after season four.

The ever-so-popular Netflix show has returned for another stint after becoming one of the biggest teen drama programmes of the moment.

But Ulrich and Nichols, who play F. P. Jones and Hermione Lodge, will bow out when the current season ends in April.

Ulrich shared a statement with TV Line that said: "I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships I’ve made on Riverdale, and I will miss seeing everyone on a daily basis.

"I’m proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind.

"But I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities."

The actor will wave goodbye to playing Jughead's dad and prepare for roles in the upcoming Tom Hanks film Bios and the Quibi series #FreeRayShawn.

Nichols, who stars Veronica’s mum, also teased her own projects outside of Riverdale including Spiral and Saw movies.

She tweeted: "Okay, it’s official. Best fans ever. Been reading all ur tweets. Tku for the love & support.

"We’re still filming Riverdale till April so still more to come, and then 1 month till #spiral #saw movie comes out! Beyond excited. Nothing but Red heart for all of u."

Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa paid tribute to the two departing stars in a statement to TVLine.

He said: "Part of life in Riverdale — and part of growing up — is saying goodbye to people. I’m grateful to Skeet and Marisol for their incredible work on the show these last four years, and we all wish them well on their future endeavours.

"F.P. and Hermione will never be far from our hearts. And, of course, they’re always welcome back in Riverdale."

The fourth series premiered on Netflix on Thursday, October 10,2019 after the show first aired in January 2017.

Fan favourite characters such as Jughead (Cole Sprouse), Betty (Lili Reinhart), Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Archie (KJ Apa), returned for series four.

Ashleigh Murray who plays Josie McCoy didn't return after being cast in the pilot for Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene.
