Ricky Gervais beamed a huge smile as he confirmed that filming for the third season of Netflix ’s After Life has begun.
The comedian took to Twitter to share the exciting news with fans and revealed that filming begins today.
“I’d better learn my lines,” he joked alongside a picture of him holding up the new season’s script.
The star gave the camera a cheeky smile and held on tightly to the script.
He later tweeted a snap of himself beaming with joy as he held up After Life’s clapperboard.
Ricky stood in a Hemel Hempstead location while crew members stood behind him wearing masks to maintain safety amid the coronavirus pandemic.
It's set in the fictional town of Tambury, with the newspaper's offices filmed in Hertfordshire.
The series came out two years ago and follows Tony (played by Ricky) as he struggles to cope after his wife Lisa (played by Kerry Godliman) died .
Tony is also a journalist at the local newspaper and is loved by viewers as he says and does whatever he wants.
The show explores how people deal with grief, depression and suicidal thoughts.
Ricky, 59, excited fans with the news of the third season in July last year.

However, sadly it will be the last season.
Ricky said: “I’ve already made my mind up there won’t be a four.
"And you do put those things out there to make you remember as it’s tempting but... there’s an old saying that ‘to lead the orchestra, you’ve got to turn your back on the audience’.
"That’s true. The audience thinks they want another one, but they’re not sure. So you’ve got to be careful.”
It’s the first time Ricky has ever written and filmed a third series as his previous hits The Office, Extras and Derek all only had two full seasons each.
