Rapper Casanova turns himself in as Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang are hit with murder and firearms charges

RAPPER Casanova has turned himself into the cops after his gang was hit with murder and firearms charges.

The FBI revealed on Tuesday they were looking for the 34-year-old - real name Caswell Senior - and at the time it was thought he was in the Atlanta area.

However, the NYPD today revealed the Brooklyn-born star surrendered himself to officers in Manhattan late on Wednesday night.

Another 17 alleged members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation - reported to be a Bloods faction gang - were already in custody at the time.

Casanova now faces charges including firearm possession, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and racketeering conspiracy.

If convicted of the top charge against him - racketeering conspiracy - he could face life in prison, reports the New York Daily News.

Officials also charged alleged gang member Brandon Soto in connection with the September murder of a 15-year-old in Poughkeepsie.

The accused gang also allegedly defrauded COVID-19 economic assistance programs, Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said Tuesday.

Strauss said: “As alleged in the Indictment, members of Gorilla Stone committed terrible acts of violence, trafficked in narcotics.

"[They] even engaged in brazen fraud by exploiting benefits programs meant to provide assistance in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Because of that, communities across the Southern District – from Poughkeepsie to Peekskill to New York City – suffered.

"Most shocking, as alleged in the indictment, a minor was murdered in furtherance of the gang’s activities.

"Because of the extraordinary work of our law enforcement partners, the defendants now face federal charges for their crimes.”

FBI Assistant Director William F. Sweeney Jr agreed that "the violence and drug activity committed by these gang members threatened the safety of our communities and placed innocent lives at risk".

"Their unabashed criminal behavior, as alleged, included the murder of a 15 year-old and even extended to defrauding programs meant for people suffering economic hardship due to the pandemic," he said.

He then added that law enforcement proved that "Gorilla Stone is actually not ‘untouchable’.”

NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea, Peekskill Police Chief Don Halmy, and Westchester County Department of Public Safety Commissioner Thomas Gleason also condemned the alleged gang's criminal activity.

Prosecutors revealed that the group's alleged crimes were spread all over the Empire State.

Naya Austin, Dezon Washington, and Jordan Ingram allegedly robbed a rival drug dealer at gunpoint in Peekskill on June 12.

Stephen Hugh allegedly shot at rival gang members in New Rochelle on July 20.

On August 28, 2018, Brinae Thornton allegedly shot at a rival gang member in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
