Manchester United transfer target Raphael Varane has already made his feelings clear on a potential link-up with Paul Pogba.
United are set to go after a new centre-back this summer to partner Harry Maguire, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer determined to bring in a new option at the back.
After watching Dayot Upamecano slip out of their grasp and sign for Bayern Munich, they have now apparently turned their attentions to Madrid's Varane.
They've been linked with the Frenchman before, but now seem set to capitalise on his contractual situation. Varane is under contract until 2022 but talks are stalling on an extension.
The two shone together at the 2018 World Cup as they led France to glory, and apparently to have a good relationship off the pitch too.
When speaking about the prospect of Pogba moving to Madrid, Varane appeared to endorse the move.
He said: "I think we have a team. Pogba is a good player, I know him very well.
"For any team he would be fantastic
"I trust my team-mates. If new players come, we’ll see. I trust my team-mates."
Pogba's move to Madrid in the summer of 2019 never materialised, as they opted for a £300million spending spree on the likes of Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Ferland Mendy instead.
And now, the two could cross paths and swap clubs, with Pogba still yet to sign a new contract at United.
The midfielder is yet to extend his current deal and could well leave this summer in the same way as Varane could leave Madrid - to avoid United losing him for free in a year's time.
