Queen can't face family showdown with Prince Harry as she 'hates confrontation'

Prince Harry and William 'parking their feelings' says expert

Royal author Ingrid Seward said the Queen "will not be in the mood for it". Ms Seward added that the monarch, 94, who is grieving for her beloved husband Prince Philip, "hates confrontation".

The royal expert told The Times: "His grandmother will not be in the mood for it.

“She hates confrontation.

“The royal children have so much difficulty in getting the Queen to discuss anything other than dogs or horses.

"I remember Fergie telling me it took three weeks for them to try and get her to discuss their divorce.

"She kept saying ‘Oh, I’ve got to take the dogs for a walk.’"

The Queen held a summit at Sandringham in January 2020 after Harry and Meghan announced Megxit.

Harry returned to the UK for the first time since quitting royal duties for the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral.

The visit came weeks after his and Meghan's TV interview, which aired while Philip was in hospital.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plunged the Royal Family into crisis with the controversial interview.

After the funeral on Saturday, Harry was spotted chatting to Prince William.

And the brothers - who have been at the centre of an ongoing rift - reportedly held talks for two hours with Prince Charles at Windsor Castle following the service.

A source told The Sun: “Harry and William appeared cordial as the cameras rolled and that seemed to pave the way for Charles to join them when everyone had left.”

It has been reported that Harry could stay in Britain for the Queen's 95th birthday on Wednesday.

However he may be in a hurry to return to California to pregnant Meghan and his son Archie.

Members of the Royal Family have been rallying around the Queen following Philip's peaceful death on April 9 - just two months before his 100th birthday.

Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty Magazine, said the monarch's new puppies will be a "distraction" from her heartbreak.

The Queen, who also has elderly dorgi Candy, was given the pups - a corgi called Muick and a dorgi named Fergus - while the Duke was in hospital.

Mr Little said: "The thinking was enough, and that she was getting too old for new dogs and who would look after them when she was gone. But clearly that decision was reversed and, as it turned out, it probably is very fortuitous.

"I think it's useful to have these puppies in her life now as a way of a distraction."

The Queen has been spending the lockdown at Windsor Castle with a reduced number of staff and aides dubbed HMS Bubble.
