Prison for sex offenders allows inmates to spend their days playing Xbox games

PRISONERS at a jail for sex offenders are allowed to spend their days playing games on Xboxes.

High-security HMP Isle of Wight, with more than 1,000 inmates, grants the perk for good behaviour.

The Xboxes are used at both its sections, HMPs Albany and Parkhurst.

Current criminals include Darryl Rowe who was jailed for life for infecting men with HIV.

Past prisoners include pop paedophile Gary Glitter plus the Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe and the Kray Twins.

A source said: “Some people can’t afford an Xbox right now, yet these paedos and rapists can sit playing games all day.

“Granting this to such monsters is mad.”

The Prison Service said: “Well-behaved inmates can pay for an Xbox with no internet access.

"This privilege can be removed at any time.”

Winchester prison inmates burrow out of cell walls as another yells 'Look at him just hanging out of his f***ing wall!'
