Sarah, also known as Fergie by friends and family, published on Twitter a touching message dedicated to her daughter, who should have celebrated her wedding today at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace. It read: "Love you my darling Beatrice.
"You have given me more joy than I could ever wish for.
"I am so excited to celebrate yours and Edo’s love when we all are out of lockdown.
"The most important thing is health and love and today I send it to you and all the other people that were getting married during this time... so proud of you all."
The message came with a never-before-seen picture of Princess Beatrice as a child.
Princess Beatrice was due to marry today
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo's wedding was postponed in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
The couple announced their engagement in late September 2019, after taking the decision to tie the knot during a romantic weekend on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
In February this year, the Palace announced Beatrice and Edoardo's wedding would have taken place on May 29 at the Chapel Royal.

The reception would have been hosted by the Queen and taken place in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
Following the outbreak in the UK of COVID-19, the palace announced Beatrice and Edo had decided to cancel the reception, but never officially announced the postponement of their wedding.
But from late March, the couple would have been unable to carry on with the wedding anyway, as Prime Minister Boris Johnson issued a nationwide lockdown to quash the spread of the virus.
In accordance with the Government guidance, the Church of England put on hold any planned wedding ceremonies or christenings and closed churches to public worship.
Princess Beatrice hasn't opened up on her heartbreak over the delayed wedding.
In fact, the elder daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York appears to have put on a brave face as she appeared in a number of videos.
