Prince Harry will have ‘tight window’ to see Royal Family during UK return, says expert

Prince Harry and William talks to 'take some time' says Stott

The Duke of Sussex is believed to be self-isolating after arriving on Sunday from California ahead of the funeral for his grandfather, Prince Philip. According to the UK Government’s coronavirus guidance, arrivals in the UK must quarantine for ten days and take two PCR tests.

Travellers are also given the possibility to take a third test test in between the compulsory swabs to determine whether they are free to end self-isolation earlier.

Harry will be allowed to attend his grandfather’s funeral “on compassionate grounds” after five days rather than 10 if he provides a negative coronavirus test under the Government's “Test to Release” scheme.

By these rules, Harry will be able to leave Frogmore Cottage - where he is currently staying - on Friday at the earliest.

According to a royal expert, the short period between the end of his quarantine and the start of the funeral is the only time the Duke will be able to see his family before the ceremony takes place.

Speaking to 9Honey, royal commentator Katie Nicholl warned it was “a tight window” for the reunion.

She said: "I've had confirmation he is definitely there.

”And we know that he won't be seeing anyone at the moment because he is in quarantine for five days.

"[But] It may leave a short window for him to see the Queen, possibly, possibly his brother or father before the actual funeral service.

"I think that is the hope because obviously the eyes of the world are going to be on them Saturday, so there is the hope that they'll get the chance to see each other before the public appearance. It's a tight window."

Ms Nicholl also discussed Harry’s current living arrangements, speculating on whether he has royal household staff helping him with everyday tasks.

She said: ”I would imagine that because he can't come into contact with anyone it is probably just him there and that the house would have been fully prepared, stocked and made ready for his arrival...thinking logically.

"It's worth noting that even when they did live at Frogmore they had a very skeleton staff, he's not one for [that] sort of fuss.

“He can cook and he can do things for himself and he's happy to do that.”
