She said: “I discovered the damage about 7am this morning when I was getting in my car ready to go to placement, I noticed glass all over the back seat.”
The student, who is in the second year of a Nursing degree at the University of Central Lancashire said: “I’ve had to miss out on my placement with university which pushed me back.
“This has also massively impacted me financially as the cost of fixing my car will have to come out of my Student Finance payment.
"It's going to be expensive because as well as the damage to the windows, they have tried prying open the doors which do not shut anymore.”
The thieves managed to get their hands on an iPhone XR, as well as £120 worth of cash stored in the car's glove box.
A spokesman from Lancashire Police confirmed that ‘enquiries are ongoing’ surrounding the incident and if anybody has any information relating to it, to contact Lancashire Police quoting log number 0237.
