The Premier League transfer window slams shut on October 5 and Newcastle United could still yet be busy in the market.

The Magpies continue to be linked with additions as the summer window comes close to its end.

With that in mind, here is a close look at all the very latest Newcastle transfer news and other leading snippets of gossip from across the Premier League in one place.

Bruce issues Yedlin update

Manager Bruce has not ruled out the prospect of right-back DeAndre Yedlin leaving Newcastle before the transfer window closes for business.

The USA defender has fallen down the pecking order at St James' Park and has not featured in either of the first two Premier League fixtures this season.

With that taken into consideration, it appears unlikely that Yedlin has a long-term future left on Tyneside, meaning he could leave before the October 5 deadline.

Bruce said: "I've got huge respect for him because he's done very well since I've been at the club but he's probably another one where he looks at it and thinks, 'Hang on a minute, I'm not in the team and we've got three right-backs.'

"It may be a situation where he might have to find a new home, but he's a great pro and a great lad and done really well with the club. We'll see what develops over the next two or three weeks."

Newcastle receive Vilca boost

Newcastle have been handed a boost in their hopes of signing Deportivo Municipal youngster Rodrigo Vilca.

Newcastle have held discussion with Municipal about signing the highly-rated 21-year-old in recent weeks about striking a deal worth £250,000.

Now, in a boost to Newcastle's hopes of landing the youngster, his brother - Fabian - has admitted that the midfielder is "enthusiastic" about the prospect of joining the Magpies, but at the same time is refusing to get too carried away.

Speaking to Telemundo Sports, Vilca's brother explained: “We feel very happy, we’re very happy with what’s going on with my brother, personally and professionally. We hope that everything is done soon.

“He is happy and very enthusiastic about this opportunity that is being presented to him, but he is also focused on Municipal and staying grounded, trying to always give the best of himself, on and off the pitch."

PSG confident on Alli deal

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly confident that they can convince Dele Alli to leave Tottenham and join them on loan.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who report that the French club are very keen on signing the England international.

Alli has been left out of Spurs' last two match-day squads as Jose Mourinho looks to assess his attacking options.

Should PSG strike lucky in their efforts to sign the midfielder, he would join the club on a 12-month loan deal.

Southampton eye Everton ace

Everton midfielder Tom Davies has emerged as a target for fellow Premier League club Southampton, a report by talkSPORT claims.

The Saints are currently locked in talks with the Merseyside club as manager Ralph Hasenhuttl aims to strengthen his midfield options following the sale of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Spurs earlier in this window.

Davies, who has racked up more than 100 Premier League appearances for the club, will join the Saints on a season long-loan deal should a deal get finalised.
