Popular Falkirk Pub gets permission for outdoor drinking area

Falkirk's Newmarket Bar is licensed to have an outdoor drinking area.

The Licensing Commission of Falkirk Council said that a long-established pub in Falkirk town center had used its license sporadically during the summer months, but no complaints or problems were raised. I heard.

The member also agreed that her applicant, Stonegate Pub Company Ltd, may add meeting and restaurant facilities.

Children were also allowed to attend private functions as long as they were accompanied by an adult and left by 10pm. Accompanying children and young people can continue to eat in the restaurant until 8:00 pm.

Members have heard that the outdoor tables and chairs are lightweight and can be brought in each night, and that staff ensure customers are not allowed to continue drinking outside after 10pm.

The pub also has a planning application for an outdoor drinking area, but that is handled separately while a road occupancy permit is granted.

Audrey Junner, a solicitor representing the company, said she was grateful that she was able to use the occasional license so she could make the most of the nice summer weather.

She added: “Since the pandemic, these spaces have become more and more important, and that hasn't changed, so we aim to make it more permanent.”

Board members said I visited the Newmarket Inn the day before the conference and had the opportunity to ask questions of the staff.

They gave permission for all proposed changes.
