The A1077 will be “closed for a substantial amount of time” following a serious crash, police say.

Emergency services were called out at 11am on Sunday, November 17, to the A1077 following reports of an accident between Barton and South Ferriby.

Police say the collision involved two cars and that the road will remain closed as officers investigate the scene.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “We were called at 11am this morning concerning a collision between a white Peugeot and black Toyota Celica.

“Officers remain in the area investigating the circumstances which happened on the A1077 between South Ferriby and Barton.

“At this time we are not able to provide any further details. It is likely the road will remain closed for a substantial amount of time.”

There have been reports that two air ambulances were called out to the scene but this has not been confirmed.
