Piers Morgan takes dig at ex-Arsenal ace Aaron Ramsey’s ‘ego’ and Juve move ‘would not have impressed’ Cristiano Ronaldo

PIERS MORGAN aimed another dig at Aaron Ramsey as he claimed the midfielder's move to Juventus "would not have impressed" Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, openly criticised the Welshman, 29, throughout his 11-year spell with the Gunners.

Things got so bad between the pair that Ramsey refused to shake Morgan's hand after Arsenal's draw with Chelsea in 2015.

And the midfielder added fuel to the fire when during an interview he asked: "Who's Piers Morgan?"

Morgan described the Welshman as the "most overrated player in world football" before his move to Juventus last year.

And he has now insisted that Ronaldo would not have been blown away by the signing as he slated the 29-year-old's "ego".

Speaking to talkSPORT, he said: "Ramsey and I had a few little skirmishes.

"No question he was unlucky with his injury, he was a certainly a good player and I'd be very happy if he came back to Arsenal and did what he did before, which was a very good squad player.

"But I always felt with Ramsey that the ego was writing cheques his footballing body couldn't cash in.

"If he was the benchmark for the team we weren't going to complete.

"He's a very good footballer, but he's not a top, top footballer.

"I have watched him at Juventus and apparently they are already looking to sell him on.

"He's not had many starts.

"Look, if you are Cristiano Ronaldo and you've got Aaron Ramsey coming in, I don't think you are massively impressed.

"That's my overview of Ramsey - good player, not a great player."

Ramsey has scored just four times in 29 appearances for the Italian giants this season.

And Chelsea have reportedly been offered the Arsenal legend or Adrien Rabiot in exchange for Jorginho by Juventus.
