Good Morning Britain fans were left fuming today, after Piers Morgan's cutting remark on the show about people who have a mortgage.

Andi Peters appeared on the programme to tell viewers all about the latest competition, where you can have your mortgage paid for two years, along with a host of other benefits.

But Piers butted in and said "I don't need my mortgage paid for two years." Andi replied: "Why, because you don't have one, on any of your houses?"

Piers laughed and said "No I don't - That's what happens when you work hard mate."

But Ranvir and Susanna stepped in and said "It's not about working hard, it's about the insane amount of money you get paid."

Piers tried to backtrack on what he had said, saying he was just talking about himself personally, but Ranvir was having none of it and neither were the viewers.

Graham Vickers said: "With comments like that @piersmorgan you will find that you are not an inspiration to people who work their a***s off to pay their mortgages and are in a lot less privileged position than you, and instead you will be shown as an arrogant fool."

Lysi P said: "If you don’t want a mortgage work harder. Really @piersmorgan?? There are people out there whose jobs are A LOT harder than yours and have a mortgage. Such a foolish comment."

And Tina Teapot said: "Your mortgage is paid off if you work hard, according to Piers Morgan. Ergo, if your mortgage isn't paid off, you don't work hard. Morgan talks about 'remoaners' having contempt for Brexit voters, yet he shows utter contempt for anyone who hasn't bought a house outright."
