Piers Morgan makes savage dig at Ruth Langsford’s feud with Phillip Schofield on Loose Women

PIERS Morgan made a savage reference to Ruth Langsford's feud with Phillip Schofield on today's Loose Women - leaving her unable to suppress her giggles.

Talking about celebs who have reputations as nice guys but who aren't, the 54-year-old troublemaker said: "We all know people who are supposed to be nice in the business - don't we, Ruth?"

Recounting a tale about whether Tom Hanks was as kind as he seems, Piers began: "You always wonder, is he that nice? Are they that nice?"

Then, to uproar from the panel and audience, he added: "We all know people who are supposed to be nice in the business - don't we, Ruth?"

As the rest of the panel tried to silence him, Piers went on: “I wasn’t talking about Ruth. I’ll move on. Eamonn will like that one.”

The dig didn't escape viewers, who tweeted: "Piers having a dig at Schofield 😂😁😂."

The complaint followed an incident in April the same year which saw Phillip rudely interrupt her while she was presenting a preview of Loose Women during an episode of This Morning.

In the clip, the presenters clashed after Phil rudely cut a Loose Women segment short, with Ruth slamming her pen down in fury.

Last week, Phillip and Ruth tried to put on a united front at the NTAs, with him putting an arm round her on stage.

However, Piers mocked the moment even then, saying: "We're one big happy family. Are we, Ruth? Awks."

Eamonn Holmes has also poked fun at the rumoured turmoil on This Morning in a live link last week where the Loose Women were having a mock punch-up.

He joked: "Oh dear. Oh dear. It's worse than in here."
