Piers Morgan makes brutal dig at Meghan and Harry's new 'Hollywood-style'

The GMB host praised the Cambridges for helping in this time of “national crisis” after they dialled into Casterton Primary Academy to talk with teachers and students. On their Kensington Palace Instagram, Kate and William shared a heartwarming clip of them chatting with the children, as they joked about the Duke of Cambridge eating too much chocolate.

Piers tweeted: “Love this. Interesting how William & Kate's LACK of Hollywood-style celebrity glitz, down-to-earth attitude, & commitment to duty, have become such impressive attributes in a time of national crisis.”

The video has had nearly five million views on Instagram, as viewers from all over the world tuned in to see Kate and Williams kind words to those who are directly impacted by coronavirus.

Kate looked radiant in the clip, with golden earrings and a bright yellow top, while William appeared smart in a blue shirt.

Anmer Hall is their home away from home where they spend most of their time when not at Kensington Palace.

One said: “That’s because they are true Royals. They aren’t looking for press or attention.

"They truly care about the British public and the NHS workers and teachers who risk their lives daily to help others! Big difference from those that shall remain unnamed!”

A second replied: “That’s what I love about them! Just genuinely nice people and just what we need right now!”

A third commented: “Yes well done William and Kate such lovely down to earth human beings ... brought a lump in my throat they are parents too and can relate to those little children I’m watching tv every minute of the day and get quite choked up with some of the stories well done x”

It comes as Piers slammed Meghan and Harry’s announcement that they will be launching a new charity in the coming months.

The GMB host took to his Twitter page to criticise the pair for their proclamation that they are launching their organisation “Archewell” at an ill-timed moment.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson had been battling severe coronavirus symptoms in St Thomas ICU when the announcement was revealed to the Telegraph.

He tweeted that the former Sussex couple’s Hollywood plans are not at the forefront of British agenda right now.

Piers wrote: “Total number of f***s the British public give about these two announcing their ‘plans’ from Hollywood right now: 0.”

Meghan and Harry are yet to send their well wishes to Boris Johnson, after Kate and William shared a message of support across social media.

However, the former Sussex couple's fans made sure to celebrate the run-up to Archie’s birthday on social media, as they asked people to donate money for children’s charities.

The Sussex well-wishers wrote: “Before COVID-19 became an ominous presence in our lives, a group of us got together to organise a fund-raising campaign to honour the principles emphasised by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in their humanitarian efforts: community, kindness and compassion for vulnerable people and ecologies.

"Our campaign would build on previous efforts conducted in support of the Sussexes, particularly the #GlobalSussexBabyShower fundraiser, which was carried out in enthusiastic anticipation of the couple's first child.

"One year later, motivated by the pure joy of Archie's arrival and the very serious circumstances of our time, we introduce a campaign in honour of his first birthday and to promote those principles we hold dear, community, kindness and compassion."
