Peter Andre reveals his bed is over two metres wide so he can still sleep with doctor wife Emily amid coronavirus crisis

PETER Andre has revealed he can still share the bed with his doctor wife Emily – because it is over two metres wide.

The public have been advised to social distance as much as possible during the coronavirus pandemic, which means allowing two metres between yourself and another person.

This doesn’t however normally apply to family members – unless they have symptoms – but because Emily, 30, has been hard at work as an NHS doctor on the frontline, the family have taken extra measures.

Speaking to OK! Magazine about the impact this has had on their sleeping arrangements, Pete revealed: “We’re trying to keep our distance when she comes in from work, and be as sensible as possible. But we are still husband and wife, so that is difficult.

“Thank god our bed is two metres wide so it is perfect for social distancing.”

However, kissing and cuddling has taken a back seat for now, with Pete explaining: “We have actually avoided that for days, but we are kissing and hugging through windows.”

Emily, who qualified as a doctor in 2015, has been taking extra care to protect the family amid the outbreak.

This has meant having limited contact with her children - Amelia, six, and Theo, three - and Peter's other two kids with his ex-wife Katie Price, Junior, 14, and Princess, 12.

But she is still making sure the kids are getting a lot of affection though.

When asked if she could hug and kiss them, she said: “Yeah of course, we’re not going overboard! I don’t have to totally avoid them unless I develop any symptoms.”

She also changes her clothes and showers when she gets in from work as an extra precaution.

Pete previously told us he has been having sleepless nights worrying about his wife.

He told The Sun Online:  “Of course I've had sleepless nights, of course I worry about Emily, I worry about the kids.

“She says to me that her biggest worry is me getting it because I'm 47. I'm not concerned about that, I am concerned about her a lot and that follows through to the kids.

“She's thinking about me and my contact with the children and passing anything onto me and I am thinking about her.”
