Patrice Evra has brutally mocked friend and former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo after rumours emerged that the Portuguese star had left his house due to nearby sheep.

Less than a week after returning to United after 12 years away, Ronaldo and his family moved out of his £6million mansion in Cheshire, with loud sheep rumoured to be one of the reasons according to The Sun.

Ronaldo is a true professional and relies on rest and recovery even more than ever before since reaching the age of 36, but his press team denied that noisy sheep were the cause of the move, labelling the reports as "entirely fabricated."

However, this hasn't stopped Evra from getting in on the joke.

Evra shocked his online fans as he uploaded a video of himself on a boat to his Instagram, with the Frenchman appearing to be transporting sheep while holding a whistle in his mouth.

Ronaldo's former United teammate captioned the video with: "Don’t worry bro @cristiano I’m moving my sheep far away from your house. shepherd mister #ilovethisgame can do everything #positive4evra".

Evra has built up quite the following online for his happiness and positivity, and regularly entertains fans with his jokes as many fail to take the Frenchman seriously.

Although Ronaldo may find the joke comical, his press team certainly didn't take too kindly to the initial reports.

The Sun initially broke the story after they claimed that a source told them: "While the property is beautiful and is nestled in rolling fields and woodland, it was also close to sheep which are very noisy early in the morning.

"It had a public footpath across the land and the road at the front gave a view inside its gates Ronaldo is a true pro who places a lot on rest and recovery after games, so it was decided it was best if he and his family moved."

However, this was slammed by Ronaldo's press team as they stated that the story was "entirely fabricated" and said: "We do not comment on any private matters".

Ronaldo's new house was formerly owned by ex-United forward Andrew Cole and is also in Cheshire, boasting a pool, cinema and four-car garage, as well as CCTV cameras with security guards on patrol.

The Portuguese star may have suffered from restless nights but you wouldn't know it judging by his performances on the pitch, as on his second debut for the Red Devils he netted twice as Man United ran out 4-1 winners over Newcastle.

Ronaldo followed this up with a goal in Man United's 2-1 defeat by Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday, adding to his record tally in the competition.
