A woman's parcel was snatched from her porch prompting police to share CCTV stills of a person they believe may have crucial information.

The woman, who lives on Henley Drive in Southport, said CCTV footage from her home also captured someone "rooting through" a skip on the drive.

She told the ECHO : "[A woman] came up to the skip, had a root through the skip and then came right to the front of the house and stole a parcel."

Merseyside Police has confirmed officers are trying to identify a woman they believe could have information in relation to the theft, which took place on Wednesday (July 28).

A police spokeswoman said: "The incident is reported to have happened at around 11:30am, when a parcel was stolen from outside a property on Henley Drive, Southport.

"If you know who this woman is or you have information that could help us return the stolen parcel to its rightful owner and prevent any further thefts, please call us on 101, DM @MerPolCC on Twitter,or contact Crimestoppers anonymously quoting: 21000531813"
