They were the act that pulled on EVERYONE'S heartstrings in their audition so there was real shock on Saturday when the Sign Along With Us choir not only failed to make it through to the final but didn't even make the judges top three!

And that's despite getting David Walliams' Golden Buzzer for their first performance.

It was back in April that Little Britain star and best selling author David hit his buzzer for the amazing choir after their unforgettable audition which saw them give an incredibly moving performance of This is Me from The Greatest Showman, which prompted floods of tears and a standing ovation from everyone in the room.

Sign Along With Us are a choir aged 4-58 from Manchester. Consisting of 37 children and 28 adults, they were formed by by Jade Kilduff, 18, after she started a class for her brother Christian, four, who was told he might not ever talk again.

Thankfully, Christian defied the odds and joined Jade and many others on stage to belt out movie anthem in their first audition. And both Christian and Jade were on stage at the collective returned to BGT for the semi-finals this weekend.

With nearly 70 members, social distancing guidelines meant that not all of the members could be present in the studio, with the rest appearing on video. And, once again Sign Along With Us impressed, this time with a medley of Cyndi Lauper's True Colors and Kelly Carkson's Unbreakable.

After the performance, David told them: "It's a beautiful thing you're doing. For me you would be a fantastic winners of Britain's Got Talent 2020."

Alesha Dixon said David hitting the Golden Buzzer for them was her "favourite moment of the series," while Amanda Holden said the choir "united everything great about Britain's Got Talent and Great Britain."

So it came as huge surprise that Sign Along With Us, represented by Jade and Christian for the results part, didn't even make the top three in the semi that was won by magician Magical Bones.

Instead they will have to rely on the public vote to get through and that is an outcome that did not go down well with many people watching at home.

One tweeted: "Voted 5 times for Sign Along With Us! They should have been in the top 3! Christian absolutely melts my heart!" and another reacted: "I think sign along with us should of been in the top three. Act up and make Britain proud and if they don’t win it’s a fix. Get a grip judges not even fighting for your golden buzzers and Simon won’t be happy."

A third blasted: "SIGN ALONG WITH US WERE ROBBED!" and, while she made it into the top 3, there was also shock that Sirine Jahangir didn't get through either. One fan posted: "Shocking decision. Justice for Sign along with us and Sirine."
