Norwich 0 Wolves 0: Canaries move three points clear of bottom-side Newcastle with hard-earned point

match report

BACK-TO-BACK wins have given Norwich hope for Premier League survival - but they could not break the deadline against a turgid Wolves side.

Both teams exchanged chances in an even first period - Moutinho fired straight at Krul before Max Aarons forced a great save from Jose Sa at the opposite end.

Mathias Norman went down injured for Norwich and the midfield dynamo had to be substituted before the break.

Norwich came close on multiple occasions. Teemu Pukki had the best of the chances. A golden opportunity fell to the Finnish striker as he put it straight at Jose Sa from close range in the 69th minute, after Lukas Rupp had slid him through.

Rupp himself, forced a save out of Sa in the 79th minute but it was not to be for the Canaries - who still sit in the relegation zone.

Norwich had 14 attempts at goal in total, to Wolves five - which sums up where the three points should have gone.

The Norfolk team will be buoyed by this performance under Dean Smith. The crowd too played it's part - the atmosphere was good throughout.
