A Manchester cafe that’s been hitting the sweet spot with locals has been praised for its breakfast offerings.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so it’s got to be done right, and if dessert for breakfast sounds like the correct way to you, then Ezra & Gil on Hilton Street in the Northern Quarter is well worth a visit.
According to one of its customers, there are a couple of dishes that will definitely spruce up your morning meal, and one of them sounds extremely sweet.
Rating Ezra & Gil as four stars, 2Chill user Amy Crowther wrote: “The classic options for breakfast are here, but after dreary months of lockdown you probably want to give your taste buds a big wake-up.
“How about smashed oven-roasted pumpkin, baby spinach, crumbled feta, free-range poached egg, pumpkin seeds, toasted pine nuts, black sesame seeds and beetroot houmous?
“Or if you need to sweeten up a bit, there’s a brunch dish that wouldn’t look out of place on a dessert menu: brioche French toast with maple syrup, toffee mascarpone, crumbled Biscoff, bananas, pecans and caramel sauce.
“That sugar coma will likely last all weekend, but what a way to go!"

Oreo French toast - brioche French toast served with maple syrup, crushed Oreos, vanilla mascarpone, fresh strawberries, white chocolate sauce and raspberry icing sugar.
House-baked granola - served with raisins and topped with blueberry yoghurt, pomegranate seeds, blackberries, almond flakes & honey.
Organic oats porridge - made with coconut milk and served with mango puree, fresh mango, raspberries, chia seeds, desiccated coconut & agave syrup.
Salmon on sourdough - smoked salmon, cream cheese, salad, a free-range poached egg, black sesame seeds with E&G lemon and dill vinaigrette.
Smashed avocado on sourdough - served with crumbled feta, fresh chilli flakes, a free-range poached egg and a lime wedge.
