A glittering selection of world-class talent will be on show at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night as French giants Paris Saint-Germain play host to Premier League champions Manchester City.

The likes of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar will be hoping to fire PSG to their first Champions League victory of the season after they failed to combine in the 1-1 draw with Club Brugge earlier this month.

City, meanwhile, will look to increase their advantage in Group A having seized the initiative with a pulsating 6-3 victory over RB Leipzig in their European opener.

Anelka represented both clubs during his decorated career which also included a Champions League triumph with Real Madrid in the 1999/2000 campaign.

Nicolas Anelka is predicting a challenging evening for Manchester City's defenders up against Kylian Mbappe and Neymar

And the Frenchman picked out five battles which could prove vital to the outcome of PSG versus Manchester City:

Gueye v De Bruyne

There will be a very important role for Idrissa Gueye trying to make sure that Kevin De Bruyne has a quiet evening. That’s not an easy job to try and stop one of the best players in the world – but he does a very important job for PSG in midfield and is very capable.

Neymar v Dias

Neymar is capable of such great things and even if it is not always consistent he is an excellent player. Ruben Dias is the best defender in the Premier League and will be confident even against a player like Neymar.

Mbappe v Walker

Kylian Mbappe is unplayable on his day and we know that pace is such a big part of his game. Walker has speed and he also has experience in big games – and he is going to need it all against Mbappe.

Hakimi v Mahrez

Two players who are playing some excellent football right now. Riyad Mahrez is scoring goals in the absence of a striker – but Achraf Hakimi is one of the best full-backs in Europe. I am interested to watch this one.

Paredes v Grealish

This will be a similar battle to the one of Gueye versus De Bruyne. City might not have that striker but they have goals and creativity from midfield. Jack Grealish is playing at such a high level and it will be a big job for Leandro Paredes to keep him quiet.
