Newcastle tips: Racecard, analysis and preview for the feature contest as racing continues on Tuesday

RACE OF THE DAY

RACING continues with a cracking card on the all-weather at Newcastle on Tuesday.

The most intriguing race on the card is the big 1m handicap at 1.20. Our man Jack Keene takes a closer look.

Both the weights and the market are headed by the talented Fifth Position.

He had some smart form in Listed/Group 3 company last term and ended the season with a respectable effort in the Cambridgeshire.

He commands respect for his leading yard, but on balance he could prove vulnerable over a trip short of his optimum.

They should at least go a good gallop here, with Arcanada and Club Wexford the two most likely to get on with things.

And a decent pace could set this up for SIR BUSKER, who was a steady improver for William Knight last term.

He was a cosy winner at Kempton two starts ago, finishing strongly from out the back to win snugly under hands and heels.

He was never able to land a serious blow having been held up off a slow gallop last time out, but it was a solid effort in strong company.

He remains open to further progress this year, and Ben Curtis is the ideal man to smuggle him into the race given his sensational record at the track.
