Eddie Howe has revealed that 'processes' are happening above him to prepare for the January transfer window but the Newcastle United head coach has warned those plans could 'go out the window in a matter of minutes'.

Newcastle are six points from safety and the club's current crop are going to have a huge say on whether the Magpies defy the odds and get out of trouble.

For all the riches at Newcastle's disposal, the winless black-and-whites simply cannot afford to be cut adrift to sign the right kind of players in January.

"I've said so many times that January is so difficult to predict," Howe told reporters on Zoom.

"I could sit here and give you a whole host of numbers, but it's absolutely pointless because things change on a daily basis so all your plans and preparation can go out the window in a matter of minutes.
