A new table released today shows the infection rate of every town and village in Ayrshire.

It comes as the region took the unwanted title of Scotland's new Covid capital this afternoon.

We've ranked every neighbourhood by the highest infection rate to the lowest in their respective council areas.

East Ayrshire's Kilmarnock South Central and Caprington (2605.3) currently has the worst case rate in Scotland and is closely followed in second place by Heathfield (1450.6) in South Ayrshire.

Arran is the only zone in Ayrshire currently recording double-digit infection rates, with the Largs South displaying the lowest numbers on the mainland.
