A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs after police spotted him driving a BMW on false plates.
On Saturday, task force officers in Pendle clocked the blue BMW on Hollins Road in Nelson.
After carrying out some quick checks, they discovered that the car was being driven on false plates.
The driver was stopped and questioned and while making enquiries police found a stash of suspected class A drugs.
On Saturday a spokesperson for the force said: "Today the Pendle task force have sighted this vehicle on Hollins Road, Nelson.
"When police checks have been done it's revealed that this vehicle was displaying fraudulent registration plates which should have been on another BMW vehicle. This is known as vehicle ‘cloning’.
"One male has since been questioned in regards to fraudulent use of a registration mark and possession of class A and he will soon appear before the courts.
"The vehicle has also been recovered due to being used it crime."
