A naked couple was caught by police having a ‘late-night rumpy pumpy’ in a car in a rural lay-by.

The randy pair was each given a £200 Fixed Penalty Notice for breaching lockdown after police discovered them in Morley, near Derby.

They were also handed a cannabis warning as officers interrupted their moment of passion.

Derbyshire Police tweeted saying: ‘#Morley – undisclosed country lay-by. Nothing ruins a little bit of late night ‘Rumpy Pumpy’ quite like a couple of COVID tickets and a Cannabis Warning. #JointEffort #BudNaked ‘

It comes after cops caught a couple ‘in a state of undress’ as they romped on the Norfolk broads in February.

The lovers, from different households, were also slapped with £200 fines after they were found at Whitlingham Broad, near Norwich.

Another couple was busted while ‘fornicating under the stars’ on Dartmoor on the coldest night of the year last month.

The two had travelled 10 miles from their homes in Plymouth, but were discovered by police around midnight.

Temporary Superintendent Nathan Clark, of Norfolk Police has warned the force will ‘come down hard’ on anyone flouting lockdown rules.

He said: ‘With warmer weather, we understand that people will want go outside and make the most of it following the recent spell of snow and freezing temperatures.

‘This, combined with the “lockdown fatigue” which has firmly set in for many people, naturally leads to the temptation of a change of scenery.

‘However, it’s important to remember that lockdown rules remain in place and any journeys we make should be made for essential purposes only.’
