A mum-of-three left without power or heating all weekend due to Storm Arwen said she's been told to 'deal with it' by her energy provider.
Alissia Way, who lives in Wrexham, Wales, with her three children, including her seven-week-old son, said she's been left without any power since Friday following a power cut caused by the storm.
The young mum said she has begged for help as she has had no other choice but to wrap her children up in extra layers to keep them warm as SP Energy Network said would not be able to receive any extra help.
She told Wales Online : “I explained that I’ve got a seven-week-old-baby and I’m struggling to keep him warm.
“They basically just told me to deal with it.
“The hotels are all full, and we’re basically just stuck in this situation. I just think they should have organised some sort of accommodation.”
Alissia said her power supply went off shortly before midnight on Friday night and claims she was told by SP Energy Networks that power would be back by Saturday.
However, as of Sunday night, Alissia and her family are still stuck without electricity or gas.
“All I want is for the kids to be warm," she said.
“I’m not happy because he [seven-week-old son Kaleb] is basically a newborn baby and obviously there are other families with young babies, and it’s not fair on them."
She added: “I’ve had to put him in his coat and things like that, and we haven’t been able to sterilise his bottles properly.”
Another problem is the fact that the family’s fridge is currently without power, meaning that their food has spoiled.
Alissia said: “All of our stuff in our freezer has defrosted.
"I haven't long done a big shop for the run up to Christmas, all my frozen food has defrosted and is now unsafe to eat, some things in my fridge have also gone off. "
Alissia said she was told by SP Energy Networks that they were prioritising other groups.
“Obviously I understand the situation and it can’t be helped because it is weather related, but I do think they [SP Energy Networks] should help to do more for families, especially ones with young children,” she said.
On their Twitter account on Sunday, SP Energy Networks said: “Against these conditions, we’re committed to getting customers without power back on as quickly and safely as we can.
“Since the beginning of the storm we've reconnected over 147,000 customers. In Scotland 7,750 customers are currently affected and in England and Wales 7,903 customers are currently affected.
“Over the last few days, we’ve received an unprecedented volume of contacts from customers by both phone and social media, so we’d encourage you to check our website for updates where you can in the first instance.
“Importantly, if you or someone in your home is vulnerable, or in need of extra support, please make sure you call us on 105 to discuss support we can give you.
"It might take longer to answer your call, but our teams are here 24/7 to speak to as many customers as possible.”
Punters, staff and members of a tribute act have been left trapped inside a pub in the Yorkshire Dales after several feet of snowfall caused by Storm Arwen. has left them unable to escape.
Customers had driven to the remote Tan Hill Inn to enjoy a performance from Oasis tribute 'Noasis', but were left with no choice but to stay when the storm engulfed their cars in snow.
They have now spent a third night in Britain's highest boozer.
