Mum, 43, who’s mistaken for teen son’s sister plans to get him a nose job for Christmas so he ‘takes better pics’

A MUM who says she's constantly mistaken for her teen son's sister wants to get him a nose job for Christmas - so he "takes better pics".

Marcela Iglesias, 43, has spent £60,000 maintaining her youthful looks and now believes surgery is the right choice for her son Rodrigo, 19, too.

The teen has already had Botox injections in his nose, but now he wants to go under the knife.

His model mum, from LA, said: "He doesn't like the shape of his nose. The procedure will help him to be more comfortable taking pictures.

“He has tried some units of Botox at the tip of his nose, which prevent his nostrils from looking 'wider’, but it just lasted for a couple of months.

“My worst fear is if he comes home with a nose job saying ‘well mom see I got it done, and you were not part of it!’

“I would feel be very disappointed and terrible not to support my son.

“There are risks, of course, just like when he drives every day to the gym or work, but I ca not control his decisions.

"When the surgery or procedure is done by a professional who knows exactly what he's doing, there's a 99 per cent chance it will be successful.

“Also his nose does not require a lot of work as I think the bone won't have to be broken – just the tip will be refined.

“He doesn't like the tip of his nose – so he just wants to perfect something for himself, not to please anybody else."

Marcela adds her son has a mildly deviated septum, meaning he can't breathe as well through one nostril, something she hopes could be fixed at the same time.

And the mum insists she wouldn't let Rodrigo get just any surgery.

She said: “If he was overweight and told me that he wants liposuction, I would never accept it.

He works out six days a week - but there is no such thing as fitness for noses

Mum Marcela Iglesias43

"The first thing is to work out to burn the fat, not the easy route of sucking it out, which actually does not work.

"In order to achieve a chiselled look, you need to work out. Nothing will get you in better shape than exercise and diet, no questions asked.

“My son has an amazing bone structure and great hair. He follows a healthy diet and beauty regimens.

"He loves fashion and works out six days a week. But when it comes to the face, well there is no such thing as fitness for noses."

Marcela says her son’s situation is quite common where they live. She explained: “We are in the mecca of plastic surgery.

“There are many mothers and fathers that give birthday surgeries as gifts, in my case he is the one that wants the procedure, not me.

"It is pretty normal here to get some procedure done, not a taboo or problem.

“As a mother the only thing that we can do is support the decision and guide them to the best of expertise we have.

“I told him that it's his decision because it's his body and we talk about the pros and cons and everything that can happen, but he has so many friends that have already done it.

“And for them at least, so far so good – and they all did it at a younger age. He looks at them and loves the results."
