A stricken mother arrived home to find her ex had shot their two young sons dead before turning the gun on himself while babysitting. Sandra Ang found sons Seth Osborn, 8, and Ezra Osborn, 10, shot at the family’s home in South Jordan, Utah, on Tuesday.

Ezra had already died by the time his mom arrived home, with Seth dying while being rushed to hospital. Dad Brian Osborn – whose divorce from Ang was finalized in October 2019 – is believed to have shot the youngsters dead, before killing himself.

Police Lieutenant Matt Pennington told ABC4: ‘Tragically mom is who called; and who found her son; I mean you know, it is terrible for everybody, on the officers going in there, this is a horrible scene.’

‘We have been here previously on some reports of domestic, not in several months. We believe these two parties had been separated for quite some time. He wasn’t living here. We believe he was just watching the boys for the day.’

South Jordan Mayor Dawn Ramsey added: ‘This is a tragedy on every level. There is nothing that is ok about this,

‘It is not something you ever want to see happen in your community we had a father take the life of his two young sons and then his own.’

Brian Osborn did not have a criminal record in Utah at the time of his death, police said. Stunned neighbors have begun tying blue ribbons to trees to remember the boys.

A GoFundMe page set up to pay for the boys’ funeral said: ‘On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, this beautiful family suffered an unthinkable loss and were victims of domestic violence.

‘Ezra was an artistic, imaginative boy who loved to throw parties. He loved making others feel special and was an amazing friend. Seth was a ball of energy! He loved to be outside, play nerf gun wars with his friends, and finding adventures wherever he could.

‘These boys were Ying and Yang; except for their love of reading. Both loved to curl up and lose themselves in a good book.’
